Social Media Quick TIPS!

Now that your plan is set let’s have some fun! Engagement is the cornerstone of social media networking. High Impact activities are ongoing conversations with your audience. Keeping in mind that 90% of what you say needs to focus on the audience – make it FUN and RELEVANT for them. Don’t use social media as an AD or SALES-PITCH! You will turn people off and make enemies real quick, instead think about your business and what you can offer to the audience that is interactive and engaging.

• Trivia question – Post a question that is relevant to your industry or business. If you own a hotel you can ask your audience to guess how many people stayed at our hotel during the month of December? If you own a restaurant how about asking if anyone knows the number one selling food item or the most popular drink ordered. You can even give away a gift certificate to your business for correct quesses - people love that and it doesn’t have to be much as little as $5.00 gets people talking!

• Photo’s, Upload’s, Event’s, Staff – Spotlight your staff, show off who they are and what makes them special to your hotel. Don’t forget to add personal photo’s and event’s that you are a part of or event’s
that you are hosting! Tons of stuff you can do here that keeps fans and followers interested in your business and shows them how real you are.

• Tips/Advice – Become the expert in your industry! If you own a hotel you should be posting about tips on how to travel safely, safe driving, hotel stay safety, holiday weekend traffic report, weather report for county, etc. If you are in the automotive industry then sharing posts on car reports, recalls, when to change your tires, oil, etc is only fitting.

• Town Talk- Educate! Send out information on the events in the town near your you what’s happening there- the more you make the community aware about other things happening the more they will see that you are not just there to “sell” yourself. Where would someone eat in that town?
What cool places can they visit? History of the town, etc.

Sales/Promo’s- You have special offers, share them! Consider making a fan only special or deal.

• Contests – My personal favorite, because it draws people from all over wanting to enter to win. What could you give away that creates interaction with your connections all week? One day is great, but come up with something that keeps them coming back and back all week to your social media avenues. Be sure to set up rules for the contest - you don’t want any backlash on your social media avenues.

Socialsmidge knows that social media networking is key to your business success, but many people don’t have the time, the personnel, or the know-how. That’s how we can help – so that you can continue to work IN your business while we work ON your business.
