Singer Rihanna Sues Real Estate Company

Pop star Rihanna says serious structural defects in her Beverly Hills mansion has made it “uninhabitable,” and she is suing the seller, home inspector, her real estate company, among others for not disclosing the defects before the sale.

Rihanna alleges in the lawsuit that after the first major rainstorm her 10,000-square-foot mansion had water leak into the home from a second-floor balcony that then seeped into several rooms in the house.

In the lawsuit, she alleges the seller failed to disclose the defects at the time of sale. She’s also suing her real estate agent with Prudential California Realty, claiming her agent failed to perform due diligence and did not provide her with information on sales of comparable properties and “became aware of or should have known of extensive construction defects in the property.”

Rihanna says in the lawsuit that she would not have paid $6.9 million for the home in 2009 if she had known about the structural problems.

None of the companies or individuals named in the lawsuit have made a public statement on the pending case.

If the suit is in California, well then Adlene you maybe correct.  I really wish all Real Estate Contracts would have Arbritration clauses in them.  I have them in my leases because of Acorn here in New Orleans.  But I was then sued for mental anguish.  We gave the court a difficult time, it cost the other Lawyers a Ton of money and time trying to bust it then they wanted to move it to another court, which they cannot.

Hope she gets better handler, because who ever advised her to file suit was really reaching... As well this lawsuits seems to be frivolous and without merit, because one cannot come back two years later and say OOPS!!! or I THOUGHT!!! which is what seems to be the case.. And as for including the Realtor in this lawsuit after you had a home inspection is right up there with: "Elvis Presley sightseeing"  because the Realtor has limited due diligence. Often it is forgotten that we live in a very litigious country.

She purchases a home in 2009 and decides to sue in mid 2011? With the kind of money she had, she could have easily had other people besides a home inspector check out the building for potential problems. But to blame the Real Estate Agent is nutty.
